"Frontline workers" has become a common term in the past few months. From making videos showing the rigour and commitment of these individuals, to a nationwide applause at 8pm to thank them for their work, these actions have brought the otherwise hidden and modest work of healthcare workers to light.
From emergency hospitalisations to mass testing, healthcare sector is indispensable in caring for victims of the coronavirus, as well as in keeping the virus at bay. The spike in the number of COVID-19 patients has put a strain on hospital resources, with PPE, COVID test kits and medical supplies all seeing an increase in demand. Faced with a steep rise in COVID incidences, the healthcare sector has to optimise and devise alternatives to maximise operational efficiencies.

In the upcoming presentations, we will be covering two areas -- one, hearing from our unsung heroes about the challenges that they have encountered, as well as the important learning points that they have gleaned from this pandemic. Two, the challenges that they have overcome in expediting the research and development process; as well as how they diversified alternatives in treatment options and scaled-up infrastructural space to accommodate the surge in infected patients in a timely manner.
By inviting veteran healthcare workers to share about their COVID-19 hospital experience, we hope to draw inspiration from them on how they applied lessons learned from past experiences to COVID-19 and beyond.
